Our cookies will have file names starting yaffs.net. These may be found among the Privacy settings for your web browser. Privacy

We, like all British companies handling data on computers, are registered under the Data Protection Act, which requires us (amongst many other things) to describe what use we shall make of the data we keep, and have the authorities record and accept that use, and permits you access to the data about you (for a reasonable fee).

In practice when we write an Invoice we do it on a computer and we keep the invoice details for a few months (and our paper copy much longer).

We DO NOT EVER pass this information on, or sell it, to any other company. We never have done so and we expect never to do so in the future. Details of your transaction with us remain private to us and you can expect them to be seen only by our staff and possibly by our professional Auditors.

We suffer enough from junk mail and junk email to wish not to inflict any of it on anyone else!

We do not promise not to tell you if we have a new product we think you might be interested in. We very rarely do this, but as our product range develops and changes for the better we might at some future time want to tell you about what was both new and likely to be relevant to you.

If you tell us not to send you any mail about new developments then we will not do so.

We do also run Email lists for some types of product, but you only receive emails if you ask to do so. Where such a list exists you will find details on the page about that product.

Guarantee of goods

Our policy has always been to provide all the information a buyer needs to make an informed choice among our products. If you have questions to which you do not see answers we are happy to try to answer those specific questions, if you make clear to what product they relate.

For this reason our Guarantee is as follows:-

Our hardware products (except Balloon boards) and instruments are guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of twelve months from date of purchase.

Our software products and Balloon Boards and related hardware are offered only on an "as is" basis without any warranty as to their suitability for any particular purpose. This may seem unfair, but it follows from the terms of the GNU Public Licence and the Licence for the hardware designs. In practice we stand behind our products, and exchange them if they prove faulty.

In all cases the company shall not be liable for any losses, damage, costs, expenses including (without limitation) any loss of profits, any loss or damage to property and any indirect or consequential loss howsoever caused including any liability to third parties.

This Guarantee does not alter your statutory rights, which are described in more detail, for private buyers (not businesses) within the EC, at http://www.dti.gov.uk/cacp/ca/policy/distanceselling/newregs.htm

Title to goods

Title to goods (that is, ownership) passes to the buyer only when we have received full payment for the goods.
