ftp.uk.linux.org is indeed not online currently.

Yes, I ran a test overnight and it fails as described. We'll look into
how 1.0-stable can be fixed - let you know as soon as there's a fix in
place.....

Sorry about this, it's the initrd build which is failing and in
1.0-stable that is using some quite old code.
