[Balloon] Building 1.0-stable

I've tried building 1.0-stable out of the box (i.e. straight out of
the SVN repository) on a Debian squeeze box (6.0.1). It fails
somewhere building one of the rootfs images trying to download
netkit-base from ftp.uk.linux.org. Apparently, I can't reach
ftp.uk.linux.org. Has it disappeared? Is 1.0-stable missing a patch?
Has anybody built from scratch recently? Should I be using
1.0-stable, or trunk?

So many questions, so little time to figure out the answers myself :-)
